Ministerial Visit to mark the Award of Contract and Official Start of Works

On Wednesday 8 July, the official Start of Works for the project was marked by a visit from the Minister of State for Transport Sadiq Khan, together with the Highways Agency Director of Major Projects Nirmal Kotecha. They were accompanied by Tim Jones, Chief Executive of Connect Plus and David Blackburn, Managing Director SBBJV.

The Minister was welcomed by Tim Jones, Chief Executive of Connect Plus and Nirmal Kotecha Major Projects Director for Highways Agency, Minister received a brief overview of the scheme at the site compound and met members of the construction team. He was taken on a site tour with the project's guests and performed the opening ceremony overlooking the widening works.
