Conference 2012 – Excellence in a Changing Environment

Connect Plus held its 3rd Connect Plus conference at Church House, Westminster, on 28 June 2012 – with the theme ‘Excellence in a Changing Environment’.

Speakers at the conference included representatives from the UK Treasury, the Highways Agency, Balfour Beatty and Atkins.

Safety played a key part in the conference with a joint presentation from the Managing Directors of Connect Plus Services and Skanska Balfour Beatty, to explain the strides which have been taken to improve safety at the Dartford Toll Plaza and in other places around the network.

Tim Jones, Chief Executive of Connect Plus, said: “Last year, Andrew Wolstenholme (now Chief Executive of Crossrail) challenged us to move towards excellence by saying ‘... Good to great is a difficult journey, but worthwhile’. As we deliver our goals, our engagement with the Highways Agency is naturally lifted to new levels. Many considered this to be the best conference yet, which was followed by a celebration to mark the successful completion of the Initial Upgraded Sections at the London Transport Museum, 3 years after we started.”
