M25 Junctions 27 to 30 Widening

The Highways Agency has decided to widen the M25 motorway from three lanes to four between Junctions 27 and 30 to assist the flow of traffic on what is now one of Britain's busiest motorways.
 
Traffic volumes have built up over the years resulting in approximately 200,000 vehicles per day now using the M25.
 
50% of traffic comprises journeys made to and from work with a large number of road freight travelling to and from the south east of England.
 
The benefits of the widening scheme include improved safety, improved reliability of journey time with reduced congestion, and better information for drivers.  
 
The widening works are to be carried out in four sections, Section 4 will carry out the widening from junction 27 (M11) to junction 30 (A13) a 26km stretch of the motorway.
