About the Role

At Connect Plus Services, we manage and maintain the strategic infrastructure of the M25 motorway, one of the busiest and most complex road networks in Europe. Working in partnership with National Highways and Connect Plus, our teams deliver vital inspection, maintenance and improvement works that keep the network safe and operational for millions of road users every day.

We are looking for a proactive and motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our Project Delivery team and support the delivery of a portfolio of schemes across the network.

As Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously, working closely with Project Managers, delivery teams and supply chain partners to ensure schemes are coordinated effectively and delivered in line with programme objectives.

The role focuses on supporting the management and coordination of projects through the full project lifecycle—from early planning and governance through to delivery and completion. Many of these schemes are delivered within a live operational environment and require close cooperation between operational teams, technical specialists and external contractors.

You will play a key role in coordinating activities across multiple teams and functions, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual and governance requirements. This will involve engagement with internal teams including Safety, Commercial, Design, Logistics and Asset Management.

This is a fast‑paced operational environment where strong organisation, communication and collaboration skills are essential to ensure projects are effectively planned, governed and delivered.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the development of strong working relationships with project teams and internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project objectives, governance requirements and expectations.
  • Assisting with the coordination and delivery of multiple schemes concurrently, supporting the planning, organisation and monitoring of project activities to maintain progress in line with programme requirements.
  • Supporting project governance processes, ensuring approvals, reporting and documentation are in place throughout the lifecycle.
  • Working with Project Managers and other functions to support the development and maintenance of project plans, ensuring smooth progression through each stage of the lifecycle.
  • Helping monitor progress against programme objectives, supporting regular reporting and contributing to the identification of risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Identifying emerging challenges across schemes and working with teams to help develop practical solutions.
  • Contributing to high safety standards across projects by supporting clear expectations around safety management, delivery planning and operational coordination.
  • Supporting corporate sustainability objectives, including work linked to net‑zero targets and biodiversity net gain.
  • Ensuring key project documentation, approvals and reporting are effectively managed in line with operational and governance requirements.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a motivated individual with experience in project delivery or an infrastructure‑related environment, who is comfortable working across multiple schemes and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.

You should have experience supporting projects within structured project management environments, with an understanding of governance processes and the project lifecycle.
