Job Description

You will work as part of a team of Security Operatives across the following areas:

  • Kent Marshalling Area (KMA)
  • Security Office
  • Cycle Transport
  • Dartford Security Patrols

This role operates on 12‑hour shifts, following a 4 on / 4 off rota. You will have direct responsibility for shift team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the designated Shift Team Leader during duty hours.
  • Deliver shift briefings at the start of each shift.
  • Authorise shift timesheets.
  • Manage the PDR process.
  • Manage Airwave and Traka cabinet software.
  • Manage the Net2 access control system.
  • Manage annual leave and sickness absence, ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Monitor and operate security CCTV systems.
  • Support the transport of cyclists across the River Crossing.
  • Patrol and audit the network and depots on foot and by vehicle.
  • Respond to all security‑related incidents.
  • Manage the issue of keys and contractor permits.
  • Maintain accurate security procedure audit trails.
  • Ensure all security policies and procedures are consistently applied.
  • Support the Security Office Administrator.
  • Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role, as directed by the Security Manager.
  • Apply organisational Security Principles at all times.
  • Maintain a strong and consistent focus on Zero Harm.

Kent Marshalling Area (KMA) Duties

  • Marshal all vehicles entering the KMA.
  • Process Dangerous Goods vehicles.
  • Deliver a first‑class customer service.
  • Liaise with DVSA and emergency services.
  • Monitor the Forward Tanker Bay.
  • Prepare the KMA as an Emergency Services RVP, when required.
  • Follow and act on directions from the Control Room Manager regarding vehicle movements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Customer service experience (desirable).
  • Previous security experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge of a specific security discipline (desirable).
  • First Aid qualification or experience (desirable).

Location:

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.
