About the Role

At Connect Plus Services, we manage and maintain the strategic infrastructure of the M25 motorway network, one of the busiest and most complex road networks in Europe. Working in partnership with National Highways and Connect Plus, we play a vital role in keeping the network safe, efficient and operational for millions of road users every day.

We are now looking for an Access Planner to join our Network Operations team. This is a key role at the heart of regional planning, responsible for coordinating access across the network and ensuring that works are delivered efficiently, safely and with minimal disruption.

In this role, you will work closely with a wide range of internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate access requirements, resolve conflicts and promote collaborative working. You will take a lead in regional planning activities, balancing long‑term programmes with short‑term operational needs to maintain network performance and programme certainty.

You will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date access records, ensuring all bookings, approvals and traffic‑management allocations comply with required standards. Through regular engagement with National Highways, local authorities and third parties, you will ensure all permits, Traffic Orders and departure processes are adhered to.

As part of an integrated planning environment, you will contribute to planning meetings and support the development of smarter, digital‑first tools and processes. Your ability to analyse data and provide clear regional insights will help optimise delivery programmes and minimise customer disruption across the network.

This is a highly collaborative role, operating across all areas of the business and requiring strong relationships with teams in Asset and Project Delivery, Engineering, Service Delivery and Network Operations, as well as external partners and stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing and interpreting large volumes of data within complex systems, presenting information clearly and meaningfully.
  • Working within structured governance, compliance and quality‑assurance processes, ensuring full adherence to required standards.
  • Engaging confidently with and influencing a broad range of stakeholders across operational, engineering and delivery teams.
  • Supporting roadspace planning and scheduling activities, ensuring coordinated and timely access for works.
  • Using planning and scheduling systems, document‑control processes and audit requirements to maintain high‑quality, accurate records.
  • Managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced planning environment, demonstrating strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Supporting the development of smarter, digital‑first ways of working, including contributing to data‑driven planning improvements.
  • Assisting with the preparation of permits, Traffic Orders and network access documentation as required.

A qualification in a technical or engineering‑related discipline would be advantageous, along with familiarity with tools such as Aconex, Business Collaborator, Power BI, GIS‑based systems or other digital‑planning platforms.
