About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to join a project of national significance with a future as robust as the infrastructure it supports. As a Junior Asset Sponsor within our Asset & Network Planning team, you’ll play a key role in the strategic planning and performance of one of the UK’s most vital transport networks — the M25.

With over £70 million in annual investment forecasted and 15 years remaining on this flagship 30-year contract, this role offers exceptional long-term career stability, while placing you at the heart of high-impact, exciting work that directly shapes how the network is maintained and improved.

You’ll be supporting the delivery of a whole-life investment approach across a wide and complex asset base — from tunnels and technology systems to pavements, structures, lighting, and drainage. Collaborating with expert teams across Asset Management, Commercial, Delivery, and Planning, you’ll help ensure performance, safety, and quality targets are met.

This is a role for someone who thrives on variety, wants to influence big-picture decisions, and is passionate about making infrastructure smarter, safer, and more efficient. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to every corner of our operations and enjoy ongoing development within a joint venture of three industry leaders: Balfour Beatty, AtkinsRéalis, and Egis.

If you’re looking to grow in a role that combines technical challenge with strategic purpose – and be part of a legacy that keeps the UK moving – we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a vital member of our asset management team, you’ll play a central role in shaping the future of our infrastructure by supporting the development and implementation of forward-thinking Asset Management Plans. Your work will directly contribute to the long-term safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our operations.

You’ll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders—from CPS Asset Managers and supply partners to internal clients and national agencies—to align budgets, priorities, and delivery strategies. Your insights will help define maintenance, renewal, and improvement activities, ensuring they’re data-driven, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible.

Day-to-day, you’ll guide specialist teams in identifying and delivering high-impact asset solutions, oversee integrated delivery plans, and monitor progress to keep everything on track. You’ll champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and bring clarity and rigor to our risk management and commercial forecasting.

Your voice will help shape key asset management policies and sustainability initiatives, supporting our commitment to net-zero and biodiversity net gain. And throughout it all, you’ll be building strong, respectful, and productive relationships across the organisation and with external partners to achieve shared goals for the M25 Tunnels portfolio.

This is more than a role—it’s a chance to be part of something bigger: building resilient infrastructure for generations to come.
