At Balfour Beatty Connect Plus Services (CPS), we’re offering a rare opportunity to join a high-performing team at the heart of the M25—Europe’s busiest motorway. As Lead Technology Engineer, you’ll help drive innovation, maintain critical technology, and future-proof our network for generations to come.
With 15 years remaining on this landmark contract, this role offers not just immediate impact but long-term career stability and room to grow. Every day brings a new challenge—from shaping smart motorway solutions to ensuring seamless, safe journeys for millions of drivers.
You’ll be based at one of our modern hubs in Leatherhead, South Mimms, or Dartford, with regular travel across the M25 network. Supported by a strong joint venture with Balfour Beatty, Atkins, and Egis, you’ll work alongside industry leaders to deliver over £100 million in annual improvements.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Lead Technology Engineer, you’ll take on a meaningful leadership role at the forefront of smart motorway operations. You’ll guide and support a team of up to four talented engineers and technicians, working together to keep the M25’s critical roadside technology running smoothly.
This role offers the perfect balance of strategic oversight and hands-on engineering. From CCTV and emergency phones to advanced traffic management systems, your expertise will help shape the safety, efficiency, and innovation of one of the UK’s most important transport networks.

Providing technical support – offering expert guidance and being present in the field when required

Improving reliability – developing and delivering preventative maintenance plans that reduce faults and downtime

Location:
This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we therefore expect a minimum of 60% of your time to be spent at a CPS offices.
