What You’ll Be Doing
As a Technical Supervisor, you’ll be at the forefront of maintaining and improving the vital infrastructure of the Dartford River Crossing and tunnel—helping millions of people travel safely every year. This is your opportunity to lead with purpose, grow your expertise, and make a real impact.
In this dynamic and rewarding role, you will:

Lead with confidence: Oversee Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) maintenance activities, ensuring work is planned, executed, and completed to the highest safety and quality standards.

Engage and empower your team: Support M&E staff and subcontractors, delivering clear work briefings and debriefs while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Keep safety at the heart of operations: Champion a Zero Harm approach by proactively identifying risks, improving safety practices, and contributing to risk assessments and method statements.

Plan and problem-solve: Use dashboard reports, site inspections, and your expertise to prioritise work, determine resource needs, and maintain clear, accurate records for accountability.

Drive performance and development: Manage staffing, performance, and rotas while mentoring team members and helping them grow through constructive feedback and training.

Support innovation and sustainability: Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and sustainable practices that align with Connect Plus Services’ long-term goals.

Promote open communication: Deliver toolbox talks, encourage feedback, and ensure the team is informed, involved, and empowered.

Who We’re Looking For – Key Requirements
We’re seeking a motivated, safety-first leader with a hands-on approach and a passion for infrastructure excellence. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

A valid CSCS Supervisor card
-
A recognised Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification
-
SSSTS or SMSTS certification
-
Experience maintaining HV/LV systems, pumps, and safety systems—ideally in highways or tunnel environments

Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards in a highways context
-
Confidence using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, or equivalent tools
-
A current UK driving licence

A proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams

Clear and confident verbal communication skills to engage all levels of the team

Ability to write effective briefings, handovers, and accurate records

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.
