About the Role

Are you ready to take the next step in your utilities or highways career with a role that offers real responsibility, long-term opportunity, and the chance to be part of something bigger? As a Deputy Utilities Coordinator on the M25—one of the UK’s most critical infrastructure networks—you’ll step into a position that combines technical oversight, safety leadership, and stakeholder collaboration.

With 15 years remaining on this major Joint Venture project, this role offers not only stability but a clear pathway for growth and progression. You’ll work closely with the Utilities Coordinator and site teams to ensure groundworks are carried out safely, compliantly, and efficiently, supporting best practice under industry standards like HSG47 and GS6.

This is more than a coordination role—it’s a chance to work alongside a highly experienced team, gain valuable exposure to complex projects, and contribute to continuous improvement in safety and service delivery. You’ll liaise with utility providers, help resolve live on-site issues, and ensure high standards are met across the network.

If you’re looking for a role that offers technical challenge, collaborative problem-solving, and a long-term future within a nationally significant programme—this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Deputy Utilities Coordinator, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring that all groundworks across the M25 are carried out safely, compliantly, and in close alignment with best practice. You’ll be an important bridge between operational teams, utility owners, and safety procedures—supporting the delivery of vital works on one of the UK’s most significant highway networks.

In this rewarding role, you will:

  • Support and oversee the permit approval process for any works involving excavation or breaking ground

  • Work closely with site teams, carrying out utility surveys and helping shape safe, efficient methodologies

  • Conduct site inspections, ensuring all activities comply with the Permit to Break Ground (PTBG) system and safety regulations

  • Coordinate with utility owners, resolving access, approval, and safety concerns quickly and effectively

  • Engage with operational teams and depots, promoting awareness, delivering training, and identifying areas for continuous improvement

  • Assist with utility asset enquiries and help manage related administrative processes alongside the Utilities Coordinator

You’ll have the chance to build relationships, develop your technical and coordination skills, and contribute to safety-first delivery on a high-impact project.

Working Arrangements
We offer flexibility in your base location from any of our M25 offices. You’ll be supported with a company van and fuel card, enabling you to carry out site visits and attend depot meetings across the network as part of your regular working week.

Who We’re Looking For – Key Requirements

We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who bring a proactive attitude, a safety-first mindset, and the following skills and experience:

  • A full, clean UK driving licence (B/B1)

  • NRSWA Supervisor certification

  • Knowledge of Statutory Undertakers’ safety and control procedures

  • Ability to read and interpret utility drawings accurately

  • Confident user of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Understanding of GS6, HSG47, PAS-128/256 procedures for working near overhead and underground utilities

  • Experience with construction works involving utility interfaces

If you’re organised, collaborative, and ready to make a difference on one of the UK’s most vital highway projects, we’d love to hear from you
