You’ll lead a team of dedicated operatives – from ISU and ERT to Recovery teams – ensuring the safe and seamless operation of one of the UK’s busiest motorways. You’ll be at the forefront of incident management as Bronze Command, championing safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement every step of the way.

Based at one of our CPS offices or depots, with regular travel across the M25 network, this role offers the excitement of operational leadership with the reassurance of long-term stability in a project that keeps the country moving.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Network Operations Supervisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and smooth running of one of the UK’s most critical road networks. Leading a diverse and dedicated team, you’ll be hands-on in guiding daily operations while creating a positive, inclusive culture where everyone feels empowered to thrive.

You’ll be:

  • Leading and supporting teams of ISU, ERT, and Recovery Operatives, ensuring every shift runs safely and smoothly.

  • Overseeing the delivery of planned and reactive works, making sure everything is completed to a high standard and on time.

  • Carrying out key operational checks such as safety tours, gate stops, and litter surveys.

  • Coordinating resources effectively and updating systems to ensure transparent and accurate records of all activities.

  • Conducting daily briefings and debriefings that set clear expectations, highlight safety, and capture learning for continuous improvement.

  • Supporting vehicle checks and ensuring fleet safety and compliance with company procedures.

  • Attending incidents as Bronze Command, helping keep the network running safely and efficiently.

  • Taking part in the Winter Service rota and stepping in for the Depot Manager when required.

  • Managing rotas, absences, and performance, including leading appraisals and developmental conversations.

  • Promoting an environment of learning and growth, where team members are supported to develop and succeed.

  • Driving innovation by encouraging fresh ideas and ways to enhance how we work.

  • Contributing to environmental goals by supporting sustainable working practices in all activities.

  • Facilitating regular communication and delivering toolbox talks to keep the team informed, safe, and aligned.

 

Who We’re Looking For – Key Requirements

We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused leader who brings out the best in others and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You’ll ideally bring:

  • A valid CSCS qualification

  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification

  • Experience in highways maintenance or similar operational environments

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively

  • Clear, confident communication and the ability to build strong relationships

  • A customer-first mindset with a focus on service excellence

  • A full UK driving licence

Working Arrangements
The role follows a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, rotating equally between 4 day
shifts and 4 night shifts.

Location:

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.
