Connect Plus Services is at the forefront of maintaining and improving the technology assets that keep our highways running smoothly. As part of our Technology Services Team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that our roads are equipped with state-of-the-art systems to enhance safety and efficiency for all road users

What you will be doing

  • Ensure systems are maintained and repaired within contractual requirements through efficient and effective working
  • Ensure National Highways Service Now data is captured and entered correctly and all data accurate.
  • Attends faults, knockdowns etc. and carries out reactive maintenance including the reinstatement of sites, cable and equipment damaged by others.
  • Carries out fault / failure rectification and maintenance duties, included within the shift / on-call rota and/or out of hours maintenance within the contract response times.
  • Provides technical liaison for third party faults.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that all faults are repaired within Contract timescales.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all planned maintenance is carried out within contract timescales.
  • Assist the sub-contractor as necessary for work on Traffic Signal systems and related equipment.

The skills we are looking for:

  • Relevant technical qualification or certification in electronics/ telecommunications engineering or 5 years’ experience working on Motorway communications or closely related systems.
  • NHSS8 Certified
  • Good knowledge of National Highways communications infrastructure and standards
  • NMCS 2 Communications experience i.e. good all round technology experience e.g. MIDAS, CCTV, VMS, ERTs, NTIS, HAWIS, Traffic Signals etc.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience of NRTS and NRTS ways of working
  • Able to work in different areas of the network and be flexible on working approaches

CPS is a joint Venture project with Balfour Beatty, Atkins, and Egis. We operate and maintain the M25.

The M25 is the busiest section of motorway in Europe and requires careful and efficient planning of work in order to deliver over £100m of annual investment in the highway infrastructure each year, in addition to planned and reactive maintenance activity.
