Highways UK Excellence Awards – finalists announced
We’re delighted to share the news that our brilliant Abnormal Loads team have been shortlisted at the Highways UK Excellence Awards for ‘Team of the year’.
It is fantastic recognition for the team, who are dedicated to facilitating over 120,000 requests a year ensuring oversized, overweight, and unconventional vehicles can travel the network: all at an astounding 100% completion rate.
The entry specifically notes the team’s meticulous planning, coordination, and proactive risk management, which has enabled numerous landmark projects whilst minimising disruption for our customers.
The team were up against and huge number of entries across the industry and to be shortlisted is an incredible achievement. Congratulations and well done to all the team!
The awards will be held on 15th October.

About Connect Plus and Connect Plus Services:
- In 2009, National Highways awarded Connect Plus a 30-year contract to operate and manage the M25 and its key arterial link roads. It continues to be National Highways’ flagship public finance initiative (PFI) and is the largest highways PFI project ever awarded in the UK.
