We are seeking a QA /Test Manager to join our team. You’ll have experience of defining, maintaining, and running tests for a range of software applications (browser and app-based). Experienced in the asset management or highways industry will be beneficial. They will have experience in different stages of testing and will know how to set these up and run them to help ensure high quality products are delivered to our stakeholders. Testing stages will include ad hoc testing, unit testing, integration testing, UAT and potentially automated testing.

To deliver our work successfully, our 600+ staff use a range of desktop and mobile IT applications, including AgileAssets, Unity, KOREC, Inform, Esri and Power BI, with underlying data held in Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases. These systems are used for incident response, inventory management, inspections, maintenance activities, in-depth data analysis, and intervention planning. Further to this, CPS trials and implements a wide range of new technology on the network. The Test Manager will also cover other Projects as directed by the Digital Delivery lead.

The role:

This is a great opportunity for a QA professional to establish, shape and run a testing capability in a high-profile business, working on a wide range of established and new projects.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, maintain, and run test suites for browser and app-based applications
• Set up a range of testing plans and capabilities, including unit testing, integration testing, UAT and potentially test automation
• Manage and track bugs / issues
• Contribute to the requirements and design stages of projects, bringing testing knowledge and planning to the process
• Collaborate closely with project team members and stakeholders, building effective relationships
• Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
• Support the delivery of Connect Plus Services Sustainability activities

Skills & Experience:

• Experienced in software testing, including unit testing, integration testing, UAT and potentially automated testing
• Ability to trace data flows through client-server systems and diagnose issues
• Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Highly organised and with attention to detail
• MS Office (Word, Excel), MS Project, Test automation tool
• Flexible, motivated and able to persevere in challenging situations
•  Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Understanding of spatial data and linear referencing systems / models – Desirable

 

Location:

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project. We expect a minimum of 3 days per week to be spent at CPS  M25 offices.

About Us:

CPS is a joint Venture project with Balfour Beatty, AtkinsRéalis and Egis Road Operations UK. We operate and maintain the M25.

The M25 is the busiest section of motorway in Europe and requires careful and efficient planning of work in order to deliver over £100m of annual investment in the highway infrastructure each year, in addition to planned and reactive maintenance activity.
